FAQ's
Absolutely. The Awakened Path team takes special interest in offering counseling that incorporates spiritual concerns by focusing on our human condition as a whole and emotionally healthy spirituality. Many of us often come to a crossroads where we question the meaning of life or whether we have purpose or value. Examples of these critical junctions include: losing a loved one (parent, spouse, child, friend); loss of a career in which you have invested your life due to injury or failure; losing faith in a religious tradition that has given your life meaning and guided your decision-making or simply questioning your purpose in this Universe. Therapy rooted in such existential and spiritual concerns helps one find answers, generate a deeper sense of awareness, connect to their higher-selves and discover an understanding of the nature of their challenges. With these insights you become, aware of your capacities, empowered to make better choices, and develop practices to create and own successes. We are here to support you on your journey to healthy holistic living.

Your first visit will allow you and your therapist to become acquainted. You will be asked questions about your personal history, health history, current challenges and what brought you to therapy at this time. We take our time getting to know you and understanding your needs in an effort to provide treatment that is personalized and effective.
You will work with your therapist as a committed team to bring forth change in your life. Consistent weekly sessions are imperative for successful treatment. (If you need more support, you may come in two times per week.) As you heal & grow, your therapist will discuss when it’s appropriate to begin coming in every other week or less. The eventual goal is to feel you have reached a healthy time to end treatment based on your progress.
We are committed to making therapy services accessible to the community. It is important to us that individuals are able to choose their therapist based on quality, need and preference rather than being limited by their insurance plan. Therefore, we have implemented a billing system for Out-of-Network clients that is atypical in that, once we verify your coverage, you will only be billed for your coinsurance. You will not be billed for the full fee up-front; solely the percentage of the fee as stated on your insurance plan. Additionally, we also submit and process all the billing, relieving the client of that task. *Clients are responsible for any balance that insurance does not pay.
We do offer affordable options in certain scenarios so please reach out to us if you are unsure about cost or insurance coverage. We will walk you through your options so you can make a decision that you are comfortable with.
Since we reserve your appointment time just for you, last minute notice or no notice at all, prevents someone else from scheduling into that time slot, and leaves a vacancy in your therapist’s schedule. Clients who do not attend a scheduled appointment or do not provide 24-hour notice to change a scheduled appointment will be responsible for a $150 Late Cancellation/No-Show Fee. This charge cannot be billed to insurance and must be paid on or before the next scheduled appointment.
Sessions are 53-55 minutes. Your therapist may recommend a 2nd session in the same week if it’s deemed clinically appropriate.
Our office is open Monday – Friday 8am-9pm; Saturday-Sunday 10am-1pm. Availability for sessions is contingent upon the Therapists’ schedule and whether you are coming into the office or engaging in online counseling. Our Administrative Team is available Monday-Friday 9am-4pm and can also be reached via email at info@awakenedpathcounseling.
