David B. White, LPC
Adolescent & Family Specialist
In session with Dave you can expect to have an authentic experience of connection and understanding. Dave has a down-to-earth approach to counseling that includes both the science and art of therapy. In one session you may learn the brain science that explains the biological connections between your bodily sensations and the feelings you are having, in another you may practice in-the-moment skills for handling your overwhelming emotions, and in still another you may find yourself chuckling at a dorky, yet timely, dad-joke. However; the foundation for all of this is Dave’s ability to help his clients feel genuinely heard, taken seriously, understood and accepted.
As a therapist, Dave has an extensive background in mental and behavioral health, walking alongside families and individuals, providing support and healing for well over a decade. Dave is an experienced family therapist, specializing in the treatment of adolescents and young adults. He utilizes a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to help families navigate the difficulties of dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, suicide, self-harm, substance abuse, attachment and adoption, LGBTQ+ concerns, school refusal, lack of motivation, family conflict and many other behavioral health concerns.
Dave has a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey. Additionally, he has in-depth training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Dave has been a husband and father for 19 years. He has three children: 20, 16, and 6 and has navigated the challenging demands of uniting a blended family, adoption, and fostering at-risk children. Dave and his family enjoy spending time in the outdoors: hiking, biking, running, and simply taking in the beauty that nature has to offer.
Brian Buczynski, LAC, NCC
In session with Brian, individuals can expect a holistic approach rooted in gaining deep-insight and resolution of inner-conflicts, resulting in effective long-term change. His sincerity and genuine nature allows clients to trust and open up with ease. He guides his clients on a gentle journey; exploring the unknown parts of themselves that often block positive change and healing. With compassion and skill, he helps one overcome such resistance – reinforcing hope and personal empowerment. Clients develop an understanding of how their past may be affecting the present by limiting their sense of personal freedom and diminishing the power to create the life they want and deserve. This wisdom fosters a transformation which, leads to feeling more whole and alive in relationship with themselves, others, and life.
Brian has taken special interest in working with individuals who have difficulty with interpersonal connections not limited to romantic partnerships, friendships, familial ties and work relationships. He believes these relationship difficulties can be doorways; alerting us to pay attention to parts of ourselves that are being ignored and prompting us to discover how personality styles contribute to the negative experiences we seem to find ourselves in over and over again. In combination with contemporary Psychodynamic Theories, Mindfulness Practices, Guided Meditation and various Evidence-Based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brian helps clients, develop a sense of confidence when relating to others, learn how to communicate their needs effectively with clarity, expand their ability to stay calm in the presence of uncomfortable emotions and find ways to feel secure and accepted in relationships.
Brian is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of NJ, a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the NBCC, and holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He holds a Certification (Level 1) in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy and has extensive training in Bio-energetic Psychotherapies. He continues to expand his therapeutic skills through continued studies at the Psychoanalytic Association of New York at the NYU School of Medicine, in the James F. Masterson’s methods for working with Personality Disorders and in the healing potential of dreams.
